IWAC seeks members for advisory council 30 April 2009 - Membership news
The Inland Waterways Advisory Council (IWAC) is looking for new members to undertake fresh appointments in 2010. The UK and Scottish Government are seeking individuals who strongly believe that the inland waterways play an important role in Britain's heritage and have a lot to contribute to its future.
IWAC members are responsible for providing strategic advice to Ministers, navigation authorities and other bodies on a range of matters influencing inland waterways across England, Wales and Scotland.
Candidates for these posts should have a personal interest in inland waterways and the ability to use their experience to benefit the work of IWAC. They also must have a familiarity with inland waterways and heritage, business and tourism, volunteering and community engagement, environmental sciences, freight and other transport and investment planning and regeneration.
